Pierre, Life Is Shit And Then You Die…c’est ce qu’il fallait dire en substance sans la substance évidemment ! LISATYD, c’est un nouveau beau projet, qui y va de son acronyme, que l’on retiendra, sans se retenir, un groupe qui ajoutera à notre quotidien de la lumière, du sel à la vie là même où Life Is Shit, comprenez sans aller à la selle mais en allant bien à la salle de concert qui vous permettra d’aller découvrir ce talentueux quatuor LISATYD !

Côté bio :

LISATYD est un jeune projet formé en 2022 composé de Simon au chant et à la guitare, de John à la guitare, de Clément à la basse et d’Angela à la batterie.

Ces 4 Artistes et musiciens et musicienne ont été auparavant associé.es à d’autres groupes. Simon œuvre aussi sur le concept SMOKY VAN SESSIONS, un moyen de rendre accessible et de partager à dimension humaine la musique à bord d’un Van, on y croisera d’ailleurs Dan Above The Clouds avec sa guitare-valise talentueuse, on aura vu également Simon dans KUGELBLITZ (Doom, Sludge). John a été membre de TERRORFLIEGER (Brutal RocK) et de THE SKIVERS (Hard RocK). Clément a été membre de THE BLACK KING (Hard RocK – Rouen). Quant à Angie elle aura été membre de SLURP (ex Dragon’s Daughters).

Un 1er EP réussi dont les pistes nous malmènent et nous surprennent comme si pour ainsi dire on ne savait pas sur quel pied danser, un EP à tiroirs avec des ambiances différentes dues à la convergence de l’inspiration de ces 4 Artistes qui se sont bien trouvé.es. Un EP made home quasiment, enregistré et mixé dans le studio du groupe par Simon et masterisé par Jérôme Richelme (que l’on connait bien aussi comme batteur des excellents SLOWBOT).

Après Fuck Is Dog Life Is A Risk acronyme à succès (FIDLAR), il se pourrait bien que LISATYD nous rendent accro à son name ! Par ici donc l’addiction !

Un EP de 7 titres à découvrir before you die ! Forever Young Everybody !

TOAD MAN (l’homme crapaud) :  Un titre à à la résonnance tribale, il monte crescendo, il est sombre, intense, inquiétant. On imagine LISATYD grimé.es de noir évoluant sur scène. C’est un titre au son amplifié, voix saturée de Simon, mélodie rageuse et ravageuse, une composition enlevée qui pourrait être la BO d’un film à suspense, un morceau de la trempe du répertoire de THE BLACK KEYS mais aussi de celui de THE KLAXONS notamment pour la qualité de cette voix qui semble être multiple.

CUT : Autre partition très intéressante, parfumée de stoner, de sons psyché, on ressent comme une puissance en sommeil, des riffs redoutables qui nous ramènent dans des univers tels que ceux de TREMOR AMA mais aussi de LIQUID BEAR, ce titre est fascinant, frissonnant, une version extended serait à souhaiter tellement c’est bon et beau, un titre où la dimension un peu Tool’esque de LISTATYD ressort et apparaît être en expansion, c’est un superbe titre !

REPEAT : Ce titre se déguste en mode MANIAC and Destroy, il est fabuleux car il est abrasif, c’est un uppercut, avec un flow qui paraît subversif comme du AGAINST ME et un son massif comme un peu beaucoup du MOTORHEAD notamment avec cette voix qui ici nous la fait bien heavy et grasse.

GERMAN DINOSAUR : Ce titre est beau, il respire une belle esthétique, c’est une belle pépite, c’est langoureux, enivrant, lourd, il avance lentement, c’est un rock sombre auquel des airs de new wave se mêlent par moment, on retrouve des univers beaux et tourmentés que l’on peut ressentir notamment chez BIPOLAR CLUB mais aussi TOMORROW MASSACRE, les riffs bourdonnants nous hypnotisent, nous bercent, comme ceux perçus dans certains titres de DEATH FROM ABOVE, avec une fin de titre comme un épilogue « Musien » comme sur le titre Invincible.

VRILLATOR : Un titre frénétique, encore une belle composition qui se joue tambours battants, une mélodie au bon goût de KAISER CHIEFS.

TAKE IT BACK : Encore un beau titre, une belle mélodie où on le son amplifié de LISATYD est à remarquer, c’est d’ailleurs une des qualités fortes de ce groupe, cette puissance sonore manifeste que l’on retrouve en concert, et cette capacité à passer d’un coup d’un seul à un rythme supérieur comme sur la fin de ce titre où on se rapproche de GOD DAMN dans un final explosif entre grunge et punk savoureux.

Je n’ai qu’une seule chose à dire ce soir Pierre, à chanter, à reprendre en chœur avec les auditrices et auditeurs, EVERYHHING IS AWESOME, la pépite et très certainement un des meilleurs titres de cette année 2023.

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME : c’est beau, beau comme le beau David Bowie, c’est vrai que ce titre nous fait penser dès les premières notes à la délicatesse et au charme de Heroes de notre regretté David. C’est un titre léger qui nous fait penser aussi dans sa douceur perceptible à du BAXTER DURY quand celui-ci rejoint SLAVES sur le titre Steer Clear. Avec ce titre LISATYD transforme le Shit en Sun, c’est un titre rayonnant comme une super nova, c’est un feu d’artifice de sensations, au fil de la composition on se rapproche des envolées lyriques et symphoniques de WHYPD…autre acronyme de notre belle scène rock française, les WE HATE YOU PLEASE DIE notamment le titre FIGURE IT OUT. Ce titre est une good idea…il est rock et indie, il est très certainement un pied de nez, un contrepied avec un cynisme affirmé dans les paroles, il est aussi car il est clairement différent des autres pistes de l’EP, un EP surprenant. Un EP qui est un bel essai transformé par LYSATID, qui fait de ce SHIT un superbe terreau d’où il en tire son inspiration.

Pierre, « Life Is Shit And Then You Die »… that’s the essence of it, without the substance, of course! LISATYD brings us a fresh project with an unforgettable acronym that we’ll remember without holding back. This group adds light and flavor to our daily lives, precisely where « Life Is Shit. » And by that, I mean they bring life to the concert hall stage, providing us with an opportunity to discover the talented quartet that is LISATYD!

A Brief Introduction:

LISATYD is a young project formed in 2022, comprised of Simon on vocals and guitar, John on guitar, Clément on bass, and Angela on drums. Each of these four artists and musicians had previous associations with other bands. Simon is also involved in the concept of « SMOKY VAN SESSIONS, » a way to make music accessible and share it on a human scale from the confines of a van. We’ve also seen Simon in « KUGELBLITZ » (Doom, Sludge). John was a member of « TERRORFLIEGER » (Brutal Rock) and « THE SKIVERS » (Hard Rock). Clément was part of « THE BLACK KING » (Hard Rock – Rouen). As for Angie, she was a member of « SLURP » (formerly Dragon’s Daughters).

Deconstructing the EP:

LISATYD’s debut EP is a captivating journey that leaves us pleasantly disoriented. With its diverse atmospheres, this EP reflects the convergence of inspiration from these four artists who have found their groove together. Almost entirely a homegrown effort, it was recorded and mixed in the band’s own studio by Simon and mastered by Jérôme Richelme (whom we also know as the drummer for the excellent « SLOWBOT »).

After the success of acronym bands like FIDLAR (F*** It Dog, Life’s a Risk), it seems that LISATYD might just make us addicted to their name! So, let’s dive into this addiction!

A Closer Look at Some Tracks:

• TOAD MAN: A tribal-infused track that builds in intensity, dark, intense, and unsettling. LISATYD’s power shines through, with Simon’s saturated vocals and a fierce, ravaging melody. It could easily serve as the soundtrack to a suspenseful film, akin to the likes of « THE BLACK KEYS » and hints of « THE KLAXONS, » especially in the quality of Simon’s versatile voice.
• CUT: Another intriguing composition, imbued with stoner and psychedelic elements. It exudes a sense of dormant power, featuring formidable riffs reminiscent of bands like « TREMOR AMA » and « LIQUID BEAR. » It’s a fascinating and spine-tingling track, with the potential for an extended version. It carries the Tool-esque essence of LISATYD, expanding into an impressive sonic landscape.
• REPEAT: This track is a relentless, manic experience, an abrasive uppercut with a subversive flow, akin to « AGAINST ME, » and a massive sound reminiscent of « MOTOR HEAD. » Here, the vocals are heavy and rich, adding depth to the intensity.
• GERMAN DINOSAUR: A beautiful track with a captivating aesthetic, it exudes languor and heaviness, slowly progressing, incorporating shades of new wave. It echoes the beautiful yet tormented universes found in « BIPOLAR CLUB » and « TOMORROW MASSACRE. » The buzzing riffs hypnotize and cradle us, akin to certain tracks by « DEATH FROM ABOVE, » with an ending reminiscent of « Musien, » as seen in « Invincible. »
• VRILLATOR: A frenetic track that races forward, an enthralling composition played at full throttle, featuring a melody reminiscent of « KAISER CHIEFS. »
• TAKE IT BACK: Another striking track with a beautiful melody, highlighting LISATYD’s signature amplified sound. This band’s sonic power is one of its standout qualities, manifesting itself on stage. It possesses the ability to seamlessly transition to a higher gear, as evident in the final moments of this track, where it approaches the grunge and punk elements reminiscent of « GOD DAMN. »

In conclusion, Pierre, I have one thing to say tonight, one to sing and chant along with the listeners: « EVERYTHING IS AWESOME, » a gem and undoubtedly one of the best tracks of 2023.

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME: It’s beautiful, reminiscent of the late, great David Bowie. Right from the first notes, it evokes the delicacy and charm of « Heroes. » It’s a light-hearted track, reminiscent of the softness found in « BAXTER DURY, » especially when he joined forces with « SLAVES » on « Steer Clear. » With this track, LISATYD turns the « Shit » into « Sun. » It radiates like a supernova, a fireworks display of sensations. As the composition progresses, we approach the lyrical and symphonic heights of « WHYPD, » another acronym in the French rock scene, « WE HATE YOU PLEASE DIE, » particularly in their track « FIGURE IT OUT. » This track is a stroke of genius; it’s rock and indie, and it’s undoubtedly a clever twist, a counterpoint with assertive cynicism in its lyrics. It’s also different from the other tracks on the EP, making it a truly surprising addition. An EP that’s a successful experiment by LISATYD, turning this « SHIT » into a rich source of inspiration.
