Le titre de l’EP est une histoire à lui-même, il fait référence au film IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE du réalisateur Wong Kar-Wai , un film où on évoque la possibilité de gravir une montagne, de faire un trou dans un arbre et d’y murmurer un secret ensuite le trou est recouvert de boue. Cet EP est un peu cet arbre, avec 5 trous, 5 secrets dévoilés ce soir !

COLORS STORE :  Un titre coloré, on ne pouvait pas mieux dire, c’est un joli fluide, un véritable ruissellement musical avec des effets rayonnants de voix et des effets de reverb’ de guitares, des airs un peu de Mardy Blum dans les intonations et des guitares qui font voyager peut-être un peu du côté de la Nouvelle Orléans.

SLOWLIER THAN LOVE : une chanson qui s’écoute et se ressent comme une berceuse, un song for love, un song conté, dans ce titre qui nous parle, on retrouve le côté intime, confidentiel de certains titres d’Elvis et la poésie de Boris Vian, cette composition charmante est accompagnée et couronnée par une trompette qui s’apparente à un clair de Lune avant que les yeux ne se ferment pour une douce et belle nuit.

THE LIVER OF MARIACHI : une très belle composition, joueuse, semblant théâtrale, cela foisonne de cordes, de sons ensoleillés, de rythmes plus endiablés, avec ce côté andalou, une dimension à la Ennio Morricone semble poindre sous l’impulsion de ces chœurs qui donnent l’impression par moment de donner la charge, et puis il y a toujours cette voix de Léo véritable fil conducteur qui ressemble ici à celle de Max de ONE ZERO.

BALKANS LULLABIES :  un titre qui semble sombre et joyeux à la fois, un début de titre nous emporte plutôt côté de THE POGUES, comme une complainte, puis il y a une envolée plus lyrique, plus ludique, plus folk et ludique, plus balkanique.

PASTAMELA forever ! Il y a des chansons parfois qui sont intemporelles, qui sont la représentation du temps lui-même. Des chansons hommage, données en souvenir ou en héritage d’un bonheur soudain ou éphémère, d’autres auront le cœur brisé comme une pâte comme un CAT STEVENS et sa Lady d’Arbanville, d’autres étofferont leurs chansons d’une pâte tendre, comme Léo pour Amela, avec ce titre PASTAMELA qui est une œuvre et une recette musicale d’exception !

PASTAMELA : un titre unique, pétri avec délicatesse des mains de maîtres et de l’inspiration de Léo. Dès les premières secondes, les cordes douces de cette guitare nous apaisent, il se passe un truc, un coup de foudre certainement. Et soudain, la voix de Léo nous saisit telle celle de JEFF BUCKLEY, par cette douceur, ce calme, ce rythme, elle est un concentrée de vie, d’expérience et d’un Amour idéalisé, peut-être pour Amela, il s’en passe des choses mine de rien dans la cuisine. Le chef Léo accompagné de Matteo  ont fait de ce titre une perle, difficile d’y être insensible. Ce titre est une  R.E.V.E.L.A.T.I.O.N. Une première partie de composition beignée dans une authenticité, dans une folk tendre, on flirte par moments avec des airs de BOB DYLAN, mais aussi la sagesse remarquée de David Bowie, on dressera un parallèle dans notre belle scène RocK Française avec cette fois-ci la voix de Frater Luxus Mundi, autrement dit Nico des WILDSOFA.

PASTAMELA c’est vraiment forever, c’est un instant magique, c’est une première diffusion radio, et c’est maintenant sur RSTLSS !

Artist Background :

LIVER STORE LIMITED is a project hailing from Nantes, led by Léo on guitar and vocals, with Matteo on bass. Notably, this EP also features Pierrick on guitar and Elliott on trumpet. LIVER STORE LIMITED is, paradoxically and genuinely, an unbounded project of creation. Léo’s pen seemingly never stops, making him a poet in his own right, wielding a guitar and harboring a passionate love for Rock. Like the RSTLSS Team, he’s essentially « Léo Store Unlimited »! Léo and Matteo were also members of a grunge band lost in the realm of MySpace.

The EP’s title is a story in itself, referring to Wong Kar-Wai’s film « IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE. » In the movie, there’s talk of climbing a mountain, digging a hole in a tree, whispering a secret into it, and then covering the hole with mud. This EP is a bit like that tree, with 5 holes, 5 secrets revealed tonight!

Track Highlights :

COLORS STORE : A colorful title, fittingly so. It’s a delightful flow, a true musical cascade with radiant vocal effects and guitar reverb. It carries hints of Mardy Blum in its intonations and perhaps takes you on a journey to New Orleans.

SLOWLIER THAN LOVE : A song that listens and feels like a lullaby, a song for love, a narrated song. In this track, we find the intimate, confidential side reminiscent of some of Elvis’s tracks and the poetry of Boris Vian. This charming composition is accompanied and crowned by a trumpet that resembles a moonlight serenade before the eyes close for a sweet and beautiful night.

THE LIVER OF MARIACHI : A beautifully playful composition, seemingly theatrical. It’s filled with strings, sunny sounds, and more spirited rhythms, with an Andalusian touch. There’s a hint of Ennio Morricone’s influence, particularly in the moments when the choir seems to take charge. And, of course, there’s Léo’s voice, a genuine guiding thread, which here resembles Max from ONE ZERO.

BALKANS LULLABIES : A title that seems both dark and joyful. It begins with a nod to THE POGUES, like a lament. Then, there’s a more lyrical, playful, folk-inspired ascent, with a Balkan twist.

PASTAMELA forever ! Sometimes, songs are timeless, representing time itself. They are tribute songs, given in memory or inheritance of sudden or fleeting happiness. Some will have their hearts broken like dough, like CAT STEVENS and his « Lady d’Arbanville, » while others will enrich their songs with tender feelings, like Léo did for Amela with the title « PASTAMELA, » an exceptional musical creation and recipe!

PASTAMELA : A unique title, delicately crafted by the hands of masters and inspired by Léo’s creativity. From the first few seconds, the gentle strings of the guitar soothe us; something special is happening, a certain kind of love at first sound. Suddenly, Léo’s voice grabs us, much like JEFF BUCKLEY, with its tenderness, calmness, and rhythm. It’s a concentrated essence of life, experience, and an idealized love, perhaps for Amela. There’s something magical happening in the kitchen. Chef Léo, accompanied by Matteo, has turned this title into a pearl, and it’s hard not to be moved by it. This track is a R.E.V.E.L.A.T.I.O.N. The first part of the composition bathes in authenticity, in gentle folk. At times, we flirt with sounds reminiscent of BOB DYLAN, but there’s also the noticeable wisdom of David Bowie. In our vibrant French Rock scene, we can draw a parallel with the voice of Frater Luxus Mundi, also known as Nico from WILDSOFA.
