GREEN PLANET – WONDERFLU titre issu de leur dernier EP GREEN PLANET sorti le 08.09.2023.
Après bien des années où le titre It’s Wonderful Life nous paraissait BLACK, il est grand temps de mettre un peu de gaieté et de redonner des couleurs à notre belle et chic Planète. Il est donc venu le temps du WONDERFLU Life, à travers ce titre énergisant GREEN PLANET, histoire de mettre au vert la Belle Bleue !
Côté bio :
WONDERFLU est un groupe originaire de Paris formé en 2007. Au départ, c’est un quatuor formé de Greg au chant et à la guitare, de Gretch à la basse, de Santiago à la guitare et de Gael à la batterie. Ensuite, le line-up a changé à partir de 2012 jusqu’en 2021, pour se stabiliser depuis 2022 avec aux côtés de Greg et Santiago, l’arrivée successive de Marco à la batterie et dernièrement de Sylvia à la basse.
En parallèle de WONDERFLU on trouvera Greg dans PFAU (Projet solo – country, indie) et TOP WATER (duo indie rock formé avec Santiago), quant à Santiago on le retrouvera dans INDIEN ZERO, THE INTERNET MOVIE DATA BAND (folk rock instrumental – Paris), tandis que Sylvia mène son projet solo SYLVIA HANSEL et BLUE TAMPAX (indie folk – Paris).

Ils ont fait quasiment toutes les salles parisiennes et de région parisienne, de la Java, au Plan, de la Mécanique au Batofar en passant par le Petit Bain et le Supersonic (à consulter sur leur pages réseaux).
- Janvier 2009 : au Pop In.
- Novembre 2011 : à l’International avec LESCOP (New Wave – Châteauroux), il se pourrait bien d’ailleurs que WONDERFLU ait été inspiré par le Green de LA FORET de LESCOP selon la légende que je viens de créer pour la chronique.
- Avril 2015 : à l’Espace B avec déjà une affiche très green côté son artwork, concert aux côtés de POLARBIRD (Noise pop – Paris), SOCIAL SQUARE (indie rock – Paris) et PFAU.
- Septembre 2017 : au Supersonic aux côtés de DIRTY FENCES (Punk RocK – US).
- Novembre 2017 : au Petit Bain aux côtés de BIRTH OF JOY et THE BLIND SUNS.

- Un 11e EP qui est une embarcation ludique à bord de laquelle WONDERFLU nous convie pour aller faire un tour dans son univers et rendre visite à une GREEN PLANET aux contours d’astéroïde B 612, selon l’artwork signé HALFBOB il se pourrait bien que la GREEN PLANET soit celle du Petit Prince.
Un EP de 5 titres :
COURAGEAOUS : Un titre qui donne la pêche, un morceau de RocK acidulé, lumineux, qui justement associe à ce côté COURAGEOUS ce côté GORGEOUS pour faire de ce morceau un très bon réveil matin. Un titre tonique qui met de bonne humeur, qui nous rappelle l’énergie de GREAT BALLS OF FIRE de la version de Jerry Lee Lewis, un titre rayonnant et vitaminé comme du GOGO JUICE (autre bon groupe de la scène RocK Française), et ce clavier nous rappelle un peu celui qui jouait du piano de bout qui est encore Jerry Lee Lewis…et non pas Elton John !
MAPLE SYRUP (sirop d’érable) : Un superbe titre, une très belle mélodie, un vrai arc-en-ciel, il y a ce petit côté CLAYTON RAVINE qui rend ce titre aussi sucré que le MAPLE auquel il fait référence.
SLAVIA : Un titre qui plairait très certainement à Georges Lang, un titre qui respire la poussière soulevée après un passage de Harley sur la route 66 qui n’est pour autant pas du tout SLAVIA. La caisse, non pas celle qui a un moteur, résonne sèche et possède un tempo redoutable comme dans certains titres du répertoire du BOSS (Bruce Springsteen) et fait de ce titre wild west, une douce saveur au bon goût de country.
BRAGGING (Vantardise) : ce titre est une petite pépite qui commence sur un rythme doux, en mode bulles et pep’s électroniques et synthétiques, un peu TAPPEWORMS, un peu MOBY, un peu Walk On The Wild Side. C’est le titre qui vous bluffe, il est un feu d’artifice à lui tout seul de belles ondes et procurant de belles sensations, une vraie thérapie indie-folk, une alternative à la monotonie.
GREEN PLANET, c’est ce soir, la belle Aventure que nous propose WONDERFLU un groupe qui a des supers pouvoirs.
GREEN PLANET : un titre savoureux à partager sans modération, seul.e ou entre ami.es. Une sorte de CARPE DIEM musical, coloré dans l’impression qu’il dégage avec des sonorités harmonieuses et ludiques. D’entrée, on part dans une ambiance douce et ample, vibrante, voire solennelle, une dimension qui semble céleste, on retrouve les sensations d’un titre comme Get Out Of The Straight Light de PLACID PARC, puis le rythme s’accélère, on est alors embarqué dans le vaisseau WONDERFLU propulsé par cette mélodie aux notes ludiques, la voix de Greg est rassurante, elle nous met à l’aise résonne comme celle de Mat des NERVICID et leur titre A Child On Motorbike. La mélodie est rayonnante au point qu’elle en explose de milles couleurs notamment avec ces chœurs qui s’élève comme dans certains passages de Mr Blue Sky de ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA. Un titre qui met du baume au cœur, le nôtre et celui d’une planète qui peut être la nôtre.

After many years when the song « It’s Wonderful Life » seemed « BLACK » to us, it’s high time to bring some cheerfulness and add colors to our beautiful and chic Planet. So, it’s time for the « WONDERFLU » Life, through this energizing track « GREEN PLANET » to make our Blue Beauty go green!
Bio :
WONDERFLU is a band originally from Paris formed in 2007. Initially, it was a quartet consisting of Greg on vocals and guitar, Gretch on bass, Santiago on guitar, and Gael on drums. The lineup changed from 2012 until 2021, stabilizing since 2022 with Greg and Santiago, and the successive arrivals of Marco on drums and recently Sylvia on bass.
In addition to WONDERFLU, you can find Greg in PFAU (solo project – country, indie) and TOP WATER (indie rock duo formed with Santiago), while Santiago can be found in INDIEN ZERO, THE INTERNET MOVIE DATA BAND (folk rock instrumental – Paris), and Sylvia leads her solo project SYLVIA HANSEL and BLUE TAMPAX (indie folk – Paris).

An EP with 5 tracks :
« COURAGEOUS« : A spirited track, a zesty piece of rock, luminous, combining « COURAGEOUS » with « GORGEOUS » to make it a great morning wake-up call. A lively track that uplifts the spirits, reminiscent of the energy in Jerry Lee Lewis‘s version of « GREAT BALLS OF FIRE, » radiant and invigorating like « GOGO JUICE » (another great French rock band). The keyboard even reminds us of the piano played by Jerry Lee Lewis, not Elton John !
« MAPLE SYRUP« : A superb track with a beautiful melody, a true rainbow. It has a touch of « CLAYTON RAVINE, » making it as sweet as the maple it references.
« SLAVIA« : A track that would surely appeal to Georges Lang, it exudes the dust kicked up after a Harley ride on Route 66, even though it’s not « SLAVIA » at all. The percussion, not the motor kind, resonates crisply with a formidable tempo, reminiscent of some of Bruce Springsteen’s songs, giving this wild west track a gentle country flavor.
« BRAGGING« : This track is a hidden gem that starts with a gentle rhythm, electronic and synthetic bubbles and pep. It’s a bit « TAPPEWORMS, » a bit « MOBY, » a bit « Walk On The Wild Side. » It’s a track that impresses you, a fireworks display of beautiful vibes and sensations, a genuine indie-folk therapy, an alternative to monotony.
« GREEN PLANET » is here tonight, the beautiful adventure that WONDERFLU offers us, a band with superpowers.
« GREEN PLANET » is a delightful track to share without moderation, whether alone or with friends. It’s a kind of musical « CARPE DIEM, » colorful in the impression it leaves with harmonious and playful sounds. From the start, it takes us into a gentle and expansive atmosphere, vibrant, even solemn, with a celestial dimension. It brings back the sensations of a track like « Get Out Of The Straight Light » by PLACID PARC, and then the rhythm accelerates, and we’re on board the WONDERFLU spaceship propelled by this melodic and playful tune. Greg’s voice is reassuring, putting us at ease and resonating like Mat from NERVICID in their track « A Child On Motorbike. » The melody is radiant to the point that it bursts with a thousand colors, especially with the rising choir parts, akin to certain passages in « Mr. Blue Sky » by ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA. It’s a track that warms the heart, ours and that of a planet that could be ours.
